Lenovo Brings Zumobi to the Olympics

Zumobi is a mobile media company that creates innovative applications which run on next generation smartphones. These applications provide unique and compelling opportunities for brands to engage and interact with their target audiences. The unique design of the Zumobi application provides the user direct access to what they want, when they want it, with cached content for quicker retrieval of fresh information. In the new age of mobile marketing, this direct contact with consumers is ideal for brands looking to deliver products and services that are tailored to a specific audience.

For the Olympics, Zumobi created an Olympics-themed mobile experience for Lenovo using their mobile widget application for smartphones. This application was distributed through Zumobi’s unique mobile interface as well as through Lenovo’s online distribution channels.

Project: GRC worked with Lenovo and Zumobi to formally launch the application during the Olympics held in Beijing.

Implementation: The firm created the press materials and proactively distributed the news to a large volume of press. Working with the Lenovo Olympic PR team, GRC secured several media briefings – the program consisted of numerous strategy sessions which ultimately led to successful outreach.

Results: After executing the program as it was set, the final step was to evaluate the outcome. The goal when setting our objective was to obtain measurable results—setting realistic and specific attainable goals and surpassing client expectations. Coverage was obtained in key outlets including Forbes, Advertising Age, Mobile Marketer, iPhone blog, IntoMobile, WirelessWeek and hundreds of news outlets in China including Xinhua News.
